As you probably know, taking care of hair extensions is very important. The quality of the hair can depend on good or bad care. Good care using the correct products and styling tools will ensure that you enjoy your hair extensions for a long time and can create a celebrity-like hairdo. However, if you don’t take good care of your extensions and use the wrong products, your hair will look neglected and shabby.

You must realize that hair extensions do not have the same DNA as your own hair because it comes from someone else. Indian Gold uses hair stemming from Hindu people from India for its extensions, who often have a different texture and type of hair than Europeans. In addition, the hair has already been cut off and processed into various colors and textures. Everyone is different and the extension hair can react differently to your shampoo than your own hair. Therefore, it may happen that the products you have been using successfully for years suddenly become unsuitable. That is why it is important to select good care products which are suited both to your own hair as well as to the extensions.

Ceramic hair styling tools

Knowing that the extension hair is of a different type than your own hair, you probably also understand that the way extension hair parts will sometimes be different than your own hair. In order to create a cohesive whole out of your hair extensions and your own hair, we recommend that you use warm styling tools. You can choose the tools you want to use, which will depend on the hair style you want to create. We recommend that you always use ceramic tools because they do not damage or dry out the hair (with normal use) and achieve a nicer, smoother, shinier effect than non-ceramic tools. Below we list several of our favorite styling tools which can quickly and easily create beautiful hair styles.

Brush your hair properly

In addition to good hair care and styling, it is also very important to regularly give the hair extensions a good brushing. Extensions ,are usually attached about 1 cm from the scalp and will grow out a bit with time. Because you lose an average of 80 to 100 hairs a day, it is possible that these “old” hairs are unable to fall out due to the hair extensions and thus become trapped between the scalp and the attachment of the extensions. This creates tangles. You may not notice this too much while wearing your extensions, but it will cause problems when removing them, when the tangles need to be removed. Naturally, this is not fun and it’s also not good for your own hair. In order to prevent this problem, we always recommend that you brush your hair every day several times from scalp to ends using the special extension brush, thereby removing the “old” hairs. The special brush will also keep your own hair free of tangles and make it shiny. However, for curly hair we recommend that you only use the extension brush in the morning and at night before going to bed for brushing your hair in connection with frizzing. During the day it is better to use a comb designed for curly hair, which will ensure that your hair remains tangle-free with nice curls without becoming frizzy.
